As a mother of two young children I have spent countless hours on the floor, playing an array of different games with them.  

It was from playing with my children and watching them develop that Hotchpotch was born, with a vision to excite parents and caregivers to get down on the floor and join in on the play with their little ones.  I want to take the “chore” out of playing with your children and rather spark joy and help foster strong bonds between adult and child.

I am no expert in play, however I do believe play is essential in the development of young children. It fosters imagination, creativity, social skills, fine & gross motor development and expands language.

Play also has numerous benefits for you too. The oxytocin released when you play with your children is sure to relieve your daily stresses. Most importantly, playing with your children fosters strong connections and helps to lay the foundations for a respectful, trusting and fun loving relationship for years to come. After all you are your child’s first best friend.

Hotchpotch focuses on quality toys that can be handed down from generation to generation and bring the excitement and joy back into playing as a family.  I love toy sets that you can build upon to grow your collection like trains or animal figurines etc.

There is still a little child inside all of us who loved spending hours on end playing, we just need a bit of encouragement these days to set them free!
